Ahmedabad has a vibrant Street Food culture. Manek Chowk, Ahmedabad is a classic example of indian street food but this video showcases the traditional Street Food of Ahmedabad. It's very different from Mumbai Street Food. If one happens to visit Ahmedabad, this is the best Street Food to try ! So here the Gujarati food I had :- 1) JALEBI & FAFDA - This is a traditional Ahmedabad breakfast staple. These jalebi were made in desi ghee and fafda is made using gram flour. It's served with kadhi, payapa chutney and green chillies. Chandravilas restaurant happens to be an iconic 100 year old restaurant where mahatama Gandhi ji to Shri Amitabh Bachchan ji have eaten. Khaman are basically made with gram flour and have a spongy texture. Dhokla are made with rice flour and have a firm texture. Das Khaman keeps a variety of khaman that are tempered with red chillies (tam tam), mint (green), curd etc. It's served with besan chutney and green chillies. It's also tempered at the end, khandvi has a fabulous melt in your mouth texture.
