Kolkata Street Food ! Yes that's how I started my journey to explore Kolkata. Street Food is a integral part of kolkata culture. There are enormous vendors selling Indian Street Food in every part of kolkata. Be it Mumbai street food famous bhel puri or batata puri or be it Delhi street food famous chole bhature, You get to savour everything in the streets of Kolkata. I also tried lots of traditional Bengali delicacies in my street food tour. So here is what I had :- 1) PURI BHAJI / CLUB KACHORI WITH KESAR CHAI - Delicious hot puri served with potato curry. This serves as an ideal breakfast if you combine it with indian tea, The tea is garnished with saffron and served in an earthen pot. I tried this from a legendary shop which was frequented by Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose. I had potato, onion and brinjal Tele bhaja. Kathi roll is basically a egg coated flakey paratha rolled with onions, chaat masala, chilli sauce, ketchup and your choice of filling. I chose tossed veggies, one can choose mutton, paneer or egg chicken kathi roll. The shop I tried from is amongst the best ones of Kolkata. Kusum Roll, Park Street Price Rs 50/- Location - https://goo.gl/maps/MC6BEBXuKY62 6) PUNJABI DHABA LUNCH MEAL - Kolkata is full of street side dhaba selling wholesome delicious punjabi meal that comprises of various curries like shahi paneer, malai kofta, palak paneer, chole, dal makhani etc. They even have a tandoor where they prepare fresh tandoori roti, paratha, naan and missi roti. The shop shown is a legendary shop of North kolkata and is considered the best in its category.
