Idli Dosa is synonymous to south indian food. It's mostly sold together and they are available all over India. Indian Street food is full of street food vendors making authentic south Indian Dosa and Idli. The Mumbai street food version of dosas are equally innovative, one gets quirky options like cheese masala dosa, jini dosa and pizza dosa. Crunchy style dosas are also available. In my mumbai street food video i had covered the famous pizza dosa available in Mumbai. If one looks on the authentic side, Mumbai has a south Indian population concentrated in matunga area. The matunga idli and dosas are really famous but the restaurants over there are basic and simple. In this video I tried idli and dosa from Madras diaries, Bandra. I loved their idli podi that had ghee / butter and malgapodi powder. Tasted delicious with sambar and coconut chutney. In dosas, Instead of trying the basic masala dosa, rawa dosa or the mysore masala dosa, I tried their cottage cheese dosa that had the paneer tossed in chettinad spices. Hope you like my video.
