Palak Puri Recipe - How to make Spinach Puri
Ingredients :
125 gms Palak/Spinach
Chopped Coriander Leaves
3-4 Green Chilies
2-3 Garlic Colves
1 Inch Ginger Piece
1 tsp Cumin Seeds
1 tbsp Sesame Seeds/Til
1 tbsp Red Chili Powder
1/2 tsp Turmeric Powder
1 tsp Sugar
1 tbs Coriander Powder
2 tbsp Semolina/Rava
1 tsp Carom Seeds/Ajwain
Salt to Taste
1 Cup Wheat Flour
1/2 Cup Wheat Flour for Dusting
Water as Required
Oil for Deep Frying
1. Turn on flame. add washed spinach leaves in a pan
2. Add green chilies, garlic cloves and ginger in a pan
3. Without adding water, cook it for 2-3 mins on low flame
4. Turn off flame
5. Transfer cooked palak in a mixer jar
6. Add cumin seeds and coriander leaves in a jar
7. Grind it well till it becomes smooth paste
8. Remove palak paste in a big bowl
9. Add turmeric powder, red chili powder and coriander powder
10. Now add rava, 1 cup wheat flour, carom seeds,
sesame seeds, sugar and salt to taste
11. Take 1 tbsp oil and mix it well
12. Kneed it well, add little water (if required)
13.Make the dough
14. Cover with wet napkin and keep it aside for 10-15 mins
15. Heat the oil in a kadai for deep frying
16. After 15 mins: kneed the dough making it smooth
17.Now make the small size balls
18. Flatten the ball and make puris on board with rolling pin
19. Fry puri into hot oil on low-medium flame till it
becomes light brown from both sides
20. Transfer puri into plate
21. fry rest of puris with same procedure
22.Palak Puris are Ready
Serve Palak Puris with Aloo Sabzi, Chutneys or Pickles
