Moong Dal Halwa - Diwali Special
INGREDIENTS:
1 Cup Split Yellow Moong Dal
3/4 Cup Khoya / Mava
1/2 Cup Pure Ghee / Sajuk Tup
1 Cup Milk
1 Cup Sugar
1 Cup Water
Some Chopped Dry Friuts(Cashews,Almonds) and Raisins
Pinch Of Kesar
1/2 Tsp Cardamom Powder / Elaichi Powder
METHOD:
1.Wash the moong dal thoroughly 2 times
2.Drain the water using strainer and keep aside
3.Add 1 Tbsp milk in the kesar and soak it.Keep aside
4.Turn on flame and place a pan
5.Add washed dal and roast it
Roast on medium flame till they become light brown in color and will have nice aroma
6.Turn off flame
7.Transfer the roasted moong dal in a plate.Keep Aside for cooling
8.Grind the roasted dal well to a powder. Keep aside
9.In a pan,add milk,sugar and water
10.Heat the mixture till the sugar melt
11.Add 1 Tbsp ghee and melt it
12.Add raisins,cashew nuts and almonds. Fry them for 1-2 minutes on medium flame
13.Transfer in a bowl
14.Add rest of the ghee in the same pan and melt it
15.Add ground roasted moong dal.Roast it on medium flame for 3-4 minutes
16.Add khoya in the dal.Mix and roast it again 2 minutes on low flame
17.Add kesar milk and the (milk-sugar-water)mixture
18.Mix it well. Stirr it continuously as there should be no lumps
19. Add Fried Kaju Badam and cardamom powder
20.Cover it with a lid. Cook it for 2 minutes on low flame
21.Remove the lid.Stirr it again 1 minute on high flame
22.Turn off flame
INSTANT MOONG DAL HALWA is Ready
Serve the tasty SWEET HALWA in a bowl
